Words into Music

Words into Music writes and sings an original song from a short brief. This plugin adds a Song panel to the EmDash editor, so you can turn a saved post into a song without leaving your site.

The panel uses the entry's title and text as the song idea. You choose a musical direction and a song language, then prepare the brief. Preparing is free. Generating the song uses one credit from your Words into Music account, and the panel asks you to confirm first. When the song is ready, the panel links to it in your private Words into Music library.

Songs can be written in English, Spanish, German, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Japanese and Korean.

Does preparing a song cost anything? No. Preparing checks the brief and costs nothing. Only Generate song uses a credit, after you confirm.

What happens if I click Generate twice? The second click returns the same job, so a retry never spends a second credit.

Where do my songs live? In your private Words into Music library. The panel links to the song page, which only you can open while signed in.

What does the plugin read from my site? Only the saved entry you open the panel on: its title and its excerpt, content, body or description field. It sends that text, your chosen direction and language to the Words into Music API, and nothing else.

How long does a song take? Usually about two minutes. Use Check status in the panel to see when it's ready.

1. Create a Words into Music account at wordsintomusic.com.
2. In your app settings, create an API key and enable song generation for it.
3. Install the plugin in EmDash, open its settings, and paste the key. You can also set a default musical direction and song language.
4. Open any saved entry and expand the Song panel.

Your site needs EMDASH_ENCRYPTION_KEY set, because the API key is stored as an encrypted secret.
