Overview

JPG.now API Usage

Connect an EmDash site to the JPG.now image-conversion API and check the account's included quota, usage, remaining conversions, and reset time without leaving the CMS.

The plugin makes requests only to jpg.now. It does not read or change EmDash content and does not upload media automatically.

Permissions

Plugins get only the capabilities they declare and you approve. Your EmDash admin lists these again before anything installs.

  • Make network requests

Connect to the publisher-declared external hosts.

    Allowed hosts

    • jpg.now

Security

Security

The plugin requests only network:request, restricted to the jpg.now host. It does not request content, media, user, comment, email, or unrestricted network access.

The JPG.now API key is declared as a secret setting so EmDash encrypts it at rest with the site's EMDASH_ENCRYPTION_KEY. The plugin never returns or logs the key. Revoke and replace a key from JPG.now Dashboard → API Access if it is ever exposed.

Installation

Installation

  1. Install JPG.now API Usage from the EmDash plugin registry.
  2. In JPG.now, open Dashboard → API Access and create an API key.
  3. Open the plugin's JPG.now settings page in EmDash.
  4. Enter the API key and select Save connection.

The EmDash site must configure EMDASH_ENCRYPTION_KEY before saving plugin secrets. The API key is stored through EmDash's encrypted secret-settings facility and is sent only to https://jpg.now.
