Cooper Email

Cooper Email gives software its own email inbox through a simple HTTP API. This plugin makes a Cooper inbox the email transport for your EmDash site, so sign-in links, user invites, and mail sent by other plugins go out from an address like yoursite@cooperemail.com.

It registers EmDash's exclusive email:deliver hook and sends each message with Cooper's POST /api/v1/inboxes/{id}/messages endpoint, passing through the subject, plain text, HTML, CC, and Reply-To. Replies land in the same Cooper inbox, where you can read them from the Cooper dashboard, the API, or its MCP server.

Does it cost anything? Cooper Email's Free plan includes 5 inboxes and 5,000 emails a month with no card.

Which address does mail come from? The Cooper inbox you configure, for example my-site@cooperemail.com. Custom domains are available on paid Cooper plans.

What happens if it is not configured? Delivery fails with a clear error instead of dropping mail silently.

The API key is declared as a secret setting, so EmDash encrypts it at rest and never returns it to the browser. The plugin can only make network requests to cooperemail.com. Report security issues to ops@avatar33.com.

1. Create a free Cooper Email account and inbox: curl -s https://cooperemail.com/api/v1/onboard -H 'content-type: application/json' -d '{"username":"my-site"}'. Save the api_key and inbox.id from the response.
2. Install this plugin from the Registry in your EmDash admin and approve its permissions (email transport, network access to cooperemail.com).
3. Open Cooper Email in the plugin admin, paste the API key and inbox ID, and select Save. The page shows the address mail will be sent from.
4. Use Send test email to confirm delivery.
