The plugin requests one capability: network access to app.veilstrat.com. API keys use encrypted EmDash settings. Research routes are authenticated and require plugin-management permission. The plugin does not read or publish CMS content.

Hiring-derived tool signals indicate demand for skills, rather than confirmed production deployment. Funding and adoption scores are research signals, not purchase predictions.

Is the plugin free?

The plugin is MIT-licensed. VeilStrat API access is a separate paid service requiring Pro and the API Access add-on.

Where does my API key go?

It is saved in the site's encrypted EmDash plugin settings. It is sent only as a bearer credential to app.veilstrat.com and is never returned to the admin page or MCP caller.

What data leaves my site?

The requested signal queries, country filters, company IDs and slice filters go to VeilStrat. The plugin does not read site content, media, comments, contacts or user directories.

Why did a request stop?

401 means the key was rejected. 403 means the account or key lacks API access. 429 means a quota was reached; respect its reset and retry headers. The plugin does not automatically retry metered requests or traverse every page.

Does removing the key cancel VeilStrat?

No. It disconnects this plugin. Manage subscriptions and API keys in VeilStrat.

Security

Report suspected issues privately to support@veilstrat.com. Include the plugin version and a reproducible example. Do not include real API keys, CMS credentials or personal data.

The plugin uses authenticated POST routes with EmDash's CSRF and plugin-management permission checks. Only app.veilstrat.com is allowed for server requests. The API key is declared as a secret setting, is never rendered back into a form, and is redacted if an upstream response echoes it. No public route or CMS content capability is declared.

Use a separate, revocable VeilStrat team key for each installation. Configure and retain EmDash's encryption key as documented by EmDash. Returned research records and source pages are data, not instructions for an agent to reveal secrets or take unrelated actions.

1. Install the plugin from EmDash's Registry and review its network permission.
2. Open VeilStrat → Settings.
3. Create a team API key in VeilStrat Settings → API. Your account needs Pro with the API Access add-on.
4. Enter the key and select Save API key, then Test connection. EmDash needs its encryption key configured for secret settings.
5. Open Research. Start with signal:hiring:30d, optionally narrow to two-letter country codes, and request a small result page.
6. Select View dossier for a matching company or paste an ID supplied by a VeilStrat webhook.

To use AI-agent research, enable the plugin's MCP tools separately in EmDash. The caller needs the route's plugin-management permission and an appropriate MCP token scope. Five tools cover company search, dossiers, slices, usage and the current filter catalog.

Read VeilStrat's API documentation for eligibility, supported filters and quotas. No key is included in the plugin bundle.
